An interesting, exploratory and stimulating accredited art project began this week at Riverside House with local artist Helen Garbett from Artworks for Change. The project, that will run several weeks during the summer and culminate in an exhibition in August, will investigate the historical context of a part of the perimeter wall at Riverside House.
We started the day by measuring, observing and discussing the wall, which included some experimental print making. In the next few weeks, work involving pewter, as well as a brick making course at Blists Hill in Ironbridge Gorge, will further deepen our experience and understanding.
Many thanks to Helen for embarking on this project which was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.
